Default I Can't Get Change Bars to Show up

In Word 2010, I'm trying to update a document so that change bars show up on every updated line. I have tracked changes on and the right border option selected for changed lines. I just did this the same way on a different document and it worked fine. What setting do you think I have wrong now?

Also, when I was getting the change bars to show up in general, there was no change indication when I deleted a row from a table. Is Word supposed to be able to put some kind of change bar in for that? I don't remember.

Please help if you can.

Thank you.

Have you checked that you have Word set to show 'Original: Show markup' or 'Final: Show markup', under Review>Tracking? have you also checked the relevant 'Show Markup' options?

Thanks for responding.

It doesn't matter whether I have it set to 'Original: Show markup' or 'Final: Show markup'.

The change bars are there when I have "show markup" on. They go away when I switch back to 'Final' without showing the markup.

Do you have any thoughts on the table row deletion question?

With Change Tracking on, deleting a table row should show it as deleted with a shaded background in either 'Show markup' view, with a track-change bar in the margin. Even switching Change Tracking off after deleting the row won't change the view - only switching to 'Original' or 'Final' view will do that. The loss of the track-change bar in the margin when switching to 'Original' or 'Final' view is normal.
