Default Copying multiple lines in a table

Hi,

I'm trying to paste multiple lines into a table. Each line has a comma in it and Word insists on pasting everything only up to the comma.

For example, I select these three lines

A, a
B, b
C, c

copy them, then select three cells in my table and paste but what I consistently get is this:

A,
B,
C,

How can I change this behavior?
Thank you

I don't think there is any simple way of changing this. It relates to the Windows Region Setting list character setting, which for the UK and USA, for example, is a comma. For several European countries, it is a semi-colon. When pasting the clipboard content into the table, Word sees the comma as a separator for columns (if you select the three columns to the right of the three selected, the lower case letters would go into that second column).

You could temporarily change the list separator character from Windows control panel to a semi-colon and all the texts would go into the first column (don't forget to change it back after).

You could change the regional character with VBA, but the code sequence is complex, so if you want to explore that, take a look at http://forums.kofax.com/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=16873

Where are these 'lines' coming from? Simply copying & pasting the text from your post, for example, inserts them all into a single table cell.

In Word 2007 -Select three cells in the same column and paste - and you only get the letters before the commas - one to a row.
In Word 2010, the behaviour is different.
