One way is to use Word's so-called Legacy text form field. You need to first display the Developer tab (Word/Options/Customize Ribbon). I leave you to look up Form fields. The legacy text field allows you to see a maximum character length; I don't know of a way to limit pages, unless a custom macro could do so. Fill, or nearly fill, pages with text and then check the character count (Review tab/Word count, or Alt+R,W); then enter this number in the form field Properties/Limit box (right-click the field after putting it in the document and select Properties.
You have to protect the document before you can use it. See http://wordribbon.tips.net/T008303_W...rm_Fields.html |

You may also find it useful to put each form field in a table cell whose dimensions are fixed.
