First, insert the dropdown not in a table cell. In Word 2003 without vba there are two kinds of useful dropdowns. The first is a formfield; the second is an AutoTextList field.
Making Forms with Microsoft Word How to add pop-up lists to any Word document, so you can click your way through changes in seconds If you can create it in the basic document, you can put it in a table cell. Why do you want to? |

Why, when you have Office 2010, are you using Word 2003 for this? In Word 2010 I would probably use a Content Control.

Why Word 2003?
My client has to use Word 2003 for the version of the companion software they are using.
The reason I was thinking of using a dropdown in the cell is the cursor will be in that cell inputting information. I understand there are always multiple ways to solve a problem. I'm coming from a Delphi programming background and was looking to see if I can do in Word what I can do in my normal IDE environment. Word is the way the companion program gathers information for their "database" program. I have used vba to enhance Word as well. Thank you for the links. |
