Exclamation Cannot see math symbols in Office 2007

I need to be able to display math symbols in Office 2007. Is there some kind of font I can download and install, as soon as possible? I need to read a document basically comprised of math symbols.

I think Word can display math symbols directly.

I wish it could. However, it cannot display the math symbols and renders them incorrectly; it looks like Wingdings 3.

Maybe you need to install Microsoft Equation, the installation instruction for Word 2003 can be found here. Word 2007 should be similar, just re-run the office installation program.

I did, but it doesn't help. I tried inserting symbols using the Equation Editor, however that fails, as it can only insert undecipherable symbols. Must be a font ...

I copied all the system fonts from one computer that could render the math symbols to the one that could not. It didn't work.

This is NOT very elegant, but try a new document to see if you still have this problem

"Trash" can sneak into a document, so at times, to save time, just do a new document

If a new document works, then Copy and Paste Special > Unformatted Text into the document that works what you have in your bad document

(You want Unformatted Text to be pasted, because you do NOT want to copy any trash from a bad document)

Failing this, then look into the following:

Do you see any difference when you compare what you see when you:

Insert > Symbols > Equation > [Equation entered] > then under Equation Tools > Design > Tools > Downward Arrow in the group > Equation Options to spot any issues

Making a new document and inserting equation symbols works fine.

Then, I would Copy from my "bad" document then Paste Special > Unformatted Text into my new document

I have never seen this discussed, but I find ever so often a doc or Excel SS seems to get the code behind it messed up

I guess you could spend a few hours resolving this issue, but I have it is easier to do what I suggest with a new doc or SS and move on and get the job done
