How to delete/remove text box (borders)
Word 2007
Running Windows 7 HP Desktop DC7700 How to remove the text box (or border) from a document ? The text box contains paragraphs composed in Bengali (Indic) font. Need to correct the document before forwarding it. Have tried various fixes found on the Internet without success. Same experience with Windows 7 laptop. |

If it's a textbox, simply click on it then, from the 'Text Box Tools' on the Ribbon, choose Shape Outline>No Outline. Finished.

How to delete/remove text box (borders)
Thank you.
Sorry, did not work. Can access text box only by clicking on insert. However, that does not have option for editing "no outline". Page Layout shows "Borders" but, again, electing "none" does not remove the border. In "Outline" view a blank page comes up. Closing outline brings up the text. Regards |

Refer back to Paul's response. Instead of Text Box Tools, click on "Drawing Tools". Follow remaining steps that Paul inicated.
Hope this helps... |

How to delete/remove text box (borders)
JimP -
Still cannot do it. Word 2007 has no Drawing Tool. See screenshot. |

I apoligize! I am using Word 2010...not 2007. Sorry!
Just in case though, when you click on the Text Box does a "Drawing Tools" (or, as Paul indicated "Text Box Tools") ribbon appear above the Format ribbon? |

If it was a text box, the process is as I described.

Your screenshot has nothing to do with Word 2007 - it's not even a screenshot of a Microsoft product.

How to delete/remove text box (borders)
My apologies.
Perhaps this screenshot would work. |

Once again your screenshot has nothing to do with a textbox in Word 2007 - it's just a screenshot of a non-Microsoft web browser showing some advice about Drawing Tools in Word 2007 - a screenshot, BTW, that shows the borders (outline) button...
Might I suggest you attach a document to a post with the actual bordered object(delete anything sensitive), so we can see exactly what kind it is? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

How to delete/remove text box (borders)
Thank you for your suggestion.
The thought of attaching a copy of the page occurred to me. However, the document includes parts that are "sensitive" and there is no provision to edit or exclude anything within the text box (borders). I am stuck. |
