I am writing an equation in word. I want to write a letter and near it a subscripted letter near it, at a fraction
for example:

2 / Dc



I want to write c as a subscript. When I am in euqtion writing mode, it is not letting me do that. How can i make c as a subscript?

I also tried writing Dc as c subscripted in normal writing and then inserting by pasting in fraction but it didnt work

In the equation editor of Word 2007 you can use underscore to create subscript (and you can use ^ to create superscript). After you have entered (say) x_y in an equation, click the arrow on the right and choose Professional from the menu.

ok thanks but i did what you said, and when i clicked on the arrow on the right profesional appeared, and after i clicked on professional nothing happened

It should definitely work.

However, a similar question showed up in the Word forum of the Microsoft Community recently, and it appears that the location where you enter x_y (etc.) makes a difference.

Could you post a screen shot of your entire equation?
