Why dose Google Docs have better spell check??
I don't understand why word has a horrific spell check compared to google docs. Google drive is free for everyone, so why do I find myself putting my docs in google because of the fact that it finds many errors word did not but yet I have paid good money for word. It seems that word spell check hasn't been updated in years. Theres is no reason for a free service like Docs to be working better than word. I am no longer a fan of this horrible service and I shall be switching to google drive for now on since it seems to me that there is less then no reason to stay with word. |

The answer to the question though is simple: Google was willing to spend time and effort to make a better spellchecker. Microsoft was not. |

Word's spell-check is actually quite good. Sure there are words it will miss, but that's because it doesn't pretend to have the entire dictionary for any language. Remember, too, that even the English language has numerous variants and, in some locales, different spellings of the same word are correct; the issue then is one of consistency. For Word, you can also obtain more specialised dictionaries if you need them; and you can create your own custom dictionary entries.
