Default Tabs for Word

Hello,

This is my first time on these forums, and I have a question about an add-on for Word. I'd really like to so tabs in Word just like in e.g., Chrome or I.E.
I work with a Mac, and I saw that Windows Office has the ability of importing this add-on. I would love to see a similar add-on for Mac, but I can't find it. Does anyone know if there's an option or a tweak to create these tabs in office for Mac? I work with a lot of documents simultaneously, so it'd be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Nick

Even in Word for Windows, it seems to me the addin is largely unnecessary given the option to "show all windows in taskbar". Not sure if Word for Mac has anything equivalent.

Interesting clue, Paul … where is this option located? I'd like to try it out.

Light begins to dawn … but a chunky visual hint that there are n Word files open is really not much of a substitute for a proper MDI with tabs :-} and ctrl + F6 does not fall as comfortably under the fingers as ctrl + Tab

btw – Checking my terminology via wikipedia before posting turns up an intriguing assertion about Windows standards

The name TDI implies similarity to the Microsoft Windows standards for multiple document interfaces (MDI) and single document interfaces (SDI), but TDI does not form part of the Microsoft Windows User Interface Guidelines.

I have not worked with Word for the Mac for many years. Is there a Ctrl-F6 or Command-F6 keyboard shortcut? This would cycle to the next document. The same with the Shift key cycles to the previous document.

In Windows I have my taskbar displayed on the right side of the screen where the individual document names can display.

You might want to explore this question on a forum dedicated to Word on the Mac.
