Default Merging an excel column to a word doc

I have 900+ word documents. Each document has pictures on a page and a line at the top of the page assigning a unique Asset ID to that particular document. (Layout of each page is shown below)



Asset ID: XXXXXXX

Is there a way of merging an excel sheet (which contains all the asset IDs in a column) to this folder of word documents to change the asset ID line in each document?

The above format of the word document has to stay the same (I have no say in how it's presented)
