Cannot delete old 2003 custom menu from 2010 template
I've adapted a 2003 format template for use in 2010 and have constructed a ribbon. The template used to have a custom toolbar and a custom menu in 2003 so my final step was to go to the Add-Ins tab on the ribbon to right-click first on the toolbar and choose Delete Custom Toolbar then on the menu command and choose Delete Custom Command. The toolbar has gone which is great but the menu command refuses to disappear: I get the message saying "Are you sure you want to delete..." and click OK but it's still there.
I've tried creating some VBA to step through each of the CommandBars but cannot find the custom one. Any ideas?? |

Is this a modified main menu that you are referring to? In that case, try the following: Open your Word 2003 template as a document (so that you see the template file name instead of "Document 1" on the title bar) and make sure it is the active window. Press Alt+F11 to display the Visual Basic Editor. Press Ctrl+G to activate the Immediate window. Type
CommandBars.ActiveMenuBar.Reset and press Enter. Save and close the template. Restart Word.
