Default Defining Printable Areas

I have a survey that is going to be given to users to fill out using Microsoft Word 2003.

The doc has 3 columns... the first column is a question that they have to answer, the second column is an example, and the third column is the area in whcih they will write their answer.

My question is how do I set the print area so that only the First and Third columns are printed and the third column resizes itself to fill the space of the second column when printed.

Currently i have this all just done in a table with 3 columns.

-Thanks!

Why not just delete the second column and easily make the adjustments you need?

If need be save this as a new file

Cool

Ok, I should have made that clear I guess. The first column is a question, the second column provides an example of an answer to the question, and the third column is where the user needs to write their answer to the question.

The second column only needs to be visible on the screen, but once printed it's no longer needed.

Actually it doesn't even need to be a column. thats just the only solution I could conjure up

I would put what you want (convert) into a 3 column table with or without borders showing and save here as Example-1.doc

I would write a Macro to Delete Column 2, then Convert to Text for printing and save this in another file, Example-2.doc

If I did not want Example-1.doc to show as a table, then I would create another Macro to Convert the whole table into 3 columns and here save, for example, as Example-3.doc

The issue with doing this is that the doc needs to be able to be re-opened / edited by the user as they need. So the second column needs to remain for that reason.

I guess I am really asking if anyone knows a solution to the problem of having the second column on the screen for the user to use as reference, but then print as if the second column wasn't there.
