Default Deleting Lines Pulls Back Next Page

Even when I have next page break for next page, when I delete a few lines it pulls back the next page to this page.

How can I prevent it? Thanks.

Your description suggests you're deleting the page break as well. When deleting content, it's best to have the formatting marks displayed, which you can do by clicking on the ¶ symbol on the Ribbon's Home tab.

Let me test for that.

Why isn't the page break "glued" to the next page? I think that is the source of the trouble.

When I click page break, I want that text to be glued to the top of next page.

How do I do that?

The page break character is always the last character on the page concerned - never on the next page. You cannot change that.

An alternative approach, to be used carefully, is to format the paragraph that you want to have start on a new page with the 'page break before' attribute. That ensure the paragraph concerned starts on a new page without the need for a manual page break. Ideally, you do this at the Style level, to ensure consistency.

Sounds like the solution!!!!

Usually I don't have a paragraph. I have Heading 2, Heading 3, or Heading 4.

But I don't want to do it the Heading level, because sometime the heading is in the middle of the page.

In that case, it sounds like what you really need is the 'keep with next' attribute applied to the heading Style, so it won't get separated from whatever follows it.
