Default Appearance of "Open" file menu

I'm not sure what I've changed, or what happened, but previously when I clicked on "Open" in Word 2003 I was presented with a view that would display the most recently modified files. Now, when I click on "Open" the list of files is displayed alphabetically and the headings are "Name" "Date taken" "Tags" "Size" and "Rating". How do I change the appearance so that the most recently modified file is at the top of the list and so on? Thank you!
