Hi Student,

If you click on one of the boxes, does anything get inserted into the document? If so, it may be a display driver issue, in which case you should check the display maker's website for an unpdated driver.

If that isn't the issue, have you tried repairing Office? You do this via 'Programs & Features' in the Windows Control Panel. Note also that you can't use the Word 2010 equation editor with .doc format files (but then you can't even access the equation editor).

I tried clicking on the boxes, but nothing got inserted. I also did a repair, but I still have empty boxes. I have "Office Home and Student 2010", which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and One Note.

Maybe this version does not include the feature? Can anyone who who has this version verify if this is the case?

Thanks.

Hi Student,

Your copy of Word supports equations; otherwise the option wouldn't even be available. Try the approach suggested here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925175
