Paul, part of the reason I'm using Excel is that a large amount of the data entered in Excel is manipulated in formulas to give me different results for the mail merge. I'm not sure I can do my process without Excel's functionality. (ie. user enters dates, dates are then used to calculate total days in between based on a work days calendar that I've created in the Excel workbook.)

The workbook you attached didn't give any indication of that. Regardless, a macro along the lines of the one I posted would do the job just fine, without the need for a mailmerge.
