Update source for multiple links to excel document
I have a word document with 20+ links to an excel document. When I go to produce a new report, I copy my word and excel template file and rename. I now need to update the link source to recognize my new excel sheet. As of now, I have to update the source for each individual 20+ links, is there a way to automate this process? I dabbled in excel macros a few years ago but do not know beyond the basics. I tried highlighting all the links in the link manager screen then updating the source. This just automatically opens and has me select the source location 20 times. Thanks |

You could use Find/Replace to change the paths:
Simply press Alt-F9 to expose the field codes in the document, then use Find/Replace to replace the old path/filename with the new one. Note that you'll need to use double backslashes as the separators. Once you've done the Find/Replace, Alt-F9 again the toggle the field code display, then press Ctrl-A, F9 to refresh the links.
