Default How to perfectly align 3 photos across the page

Hi,

I'm editing a scientific paper and have many pages containing 9 photos of mushrooms, with titles beneath.

What's the best way to end up with 3 photos across the page, with titles centered beneath each one?

The photos differ in width and sometimes a little in height. Currently, sometimes there is a bit of white space between them, sometimes not.

I need to standardize the way these look, and make sure some are not slightly higher than the others, etc.

Trying to adjust them by dragging doesn't work with enough accuracy.

Will I have to create tables?

Thanks in advance for your help

Sounds good. So now I'll learn how to do a macro...

Will this work if the pictures are already on the page?

Hi HDB,

No, the macro won't do anything with pics you've already inserted - it does all the insertion and structuring itself. Accordingly you may find it easiest to delete the pics you've already inserted and let the macro do the lot. Try the macro on a test document first, though, to confirm it does what you're after.

For PC macro installation & usage instructions, see: http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm

Hi I'm trying to use this macro. However I keep getting this error.

Any idea how I can fix it?

Run Time error '5149'

The measurement must be between 0 pt and 1584 pt.

When I go to Debug, it goes to this line:
.Columns.Width = TblWdth / NumCols

So what is your page setup (Page Width, Left Margin, Right Margin & Gutter) and the number of columns you told the macro to create?

You might also investigate http://www.gmayor.com/photo_gallery_template.html which was designed with this type of application in mind, and you don't need to know anything about programming.

I took a screenshot of my document setup. I put in 2 columns in the macro.

Thanks I'll try it out, actually I found an older application that looks very similar....http://gregmaxey.com/word_tip_pages/...ry_add_in.html
I tried that out yesterday and it kept crashing with my Word 2013, hopefully yours will work better

I get no errors using the code with your setup & 2 columns. All I can conclude is that you either: made an error adding the code to your document; or input the column count incorrectly.
