Default Word form programming: newbie question

I would like to create a form with several drop down menus, and free text box.
Once the form is filled, the selected content of the drop down menus and the content of the free text should be saved as PDF and inserted into another document.

Is Macro the right tool for that?
Is there a ready made similar example for that?

You don't need any macros - simply complete the form then choose the Save As PDF option.

I agree with Paul that you shouldn't NEED a macro.

You could put a macrobutton in your form that runs a macro that saves as PDF, I suppose. Possibly better would be an on-exit macro from the last formfield. I am talking about using legacy formfields and protection.

If the form creation depends on run time inputs.
I see no other way but using a macro.

Another alternative is to create the form as a template, and add macro button.

Your previous post mentioned nothing of this kind. In any event, I fail to see how that changes anything, since you also have dropdowns and a textbox to complete before saving to PDF.

If, on the other hand, these 'run time inputs' are being inserted into the document by another process and there's nothing more to do, surely that same process can call the Save As PDF function. Getting a Word macro to call the Save As PDF function while another process has control of the document isn't possible.
