Question Method to active "Select Drawing Objects"

I do a lot of work with shapes. Often I want to select shapes within an area using the mouse. I have the "Select Drawing Objects" added in my quick access toolbar, so it's not too bad to hit "ALT 1" to activate that feature (or obviously click the toolbar button).

However, I was wondering if there was a way to turn on the "Select Drawing Objects" arrow selector with a single keystroke, say just the F2 key.

Either as a macro that activates it directly, or injects simulated keystrokes (note that macro recording the ALT 2 will not record anything)...or as an assigned keyboard shortcut?

Thank you...

You should be able to assign the keyboard shortcut of your choice to the SelectDrawingObjects command in the Customize Keyboard dialog box (File tab | Options | Customize Ribbon | Customize).
