Default Word Empty Cells - Why is it Chr(13) & Chr(7)

Please have a look:

http://www.vbaexpress.com/kb/getarticle.php?kb_id=631

  • Chr(7) is a bullet-like dot (like this bullet point), but it does not have the bullet function
Chr(13) is a carriage return (line break?)

Okay, but why is an empty cell in Word equivalent to a combination of these?

Because that's what Word has always used to define tables. Every cell ends with a Chr(7) & Chr(13) pair, as does each row.

I see. It's really knowledge from experience. Hard to just google it and find the answer.
