Angry Word tables resizing

I can't stop word table resizing.

Auto fit disabled.

Tried setting preferred width of the table but it keeps on resizing screwing up column alignments.

Any ideas how to stop this?

Could you attach an example that illustrates what you are seeing?

Sorry, can't the document is commercially sensitive.

Autofit is off and I've tried setting the table width but as you resize columns the table width changes.

When the table has a fixed width, the total width of the columns determines the table width.

What you can do is specify the table width as a percentage.

If you click in the "Ruler" to adjust column widths it will change the table width as well. If you click on the table column line itself it will only change the one column and will not change the width of the table.
