Table Problem in MS Word 2010
Please see the attached word document. I copied the BLUE colored tables from another document and the problems that Im facing are:
1. When I press enter, the whole table should move one line down (as in case of the black table). Instead what happens is that the cursor moves next to the table (on the right hand side of the table). 2. All the blue tables are overlapping because of problem no 1 (above) 3. How can I create a new table with the same specifications of the Blue Table - Are there any table properties that I can look. Can anyone help me with this please Thanks |

My system is telling me that the .zip file that you have attached is "empty". Why not just attach the file in question rather than a .zip?

Sure. Using the advance feature (or, "Quote" this message), click on the paperclip at the top (next to the smiley face) and follow the instructions in the dialog box.

First of all, all of the tables appear to function properly with the exception of the 2nd to last (where it is labeled "Foundation" on the second lined cell).
Secondly, you can find the table properties of each of the tables by (1) left-clicking any cell within the table; (2) clicking on the "Layout" ribbon at the top; then, (3) clicking "Properties" on the left-hand side of the Layout ribbon. In that dialog menu, you can set your table to your specifications. You may find it better to create your own tables, rather than copying others, to your own specifications. It is a rather simple process. Hope this helps... |

Jim thanks for your reply. I havent solved my problem yet. Can you do this for me pls.
1. Place the cursor above the 2nd to last table (where it is labeled "Foundation" on the second lined cell). Dont place the cursor inside the table. Place the cursor above the table. 2. Press Enter 3. You will see that the Text moves one line down. In fact both the text and the table should move one line down, instead, here only the text is moving and the table is intact in its place. How do I solve this - When I press enter, the table should move one line down. |

When you said "I copied the BLUE colored tables from another document and the problems that Im facing are:", you probably copied a corrupt file that is causing you this problem. As I said in my previous post, it would probably be better if you created your own tables rather than copying others.
Rather than trying to fix a corrupt file, I have deleted the existing tables and inserted re-created identical tables. (They may not be in line with your text but, you can adjust that). Hope this helps... |
