Default Table to be 'Continued' over page

I have a document with tables, I am able to allow the table to break across the page and keep the row 1 headings, however, on the break I would like to have, for example, 'Table 5 continued' at the top of the page. Is there a way in which this can be done.

We have tried to enter blank rows but of course, it won't let you populate as the first row is the row 1 heading.... Please do ask if this isn't clear.

Hi Kay,

Word tables don't offer any support for 'Continued' text. The nearest you could get is to use Section breaks before & after the table, with each page header/footer unlinked from the headers/footers either side of the table, then use a field coded like the following to produced the 'Continued' text.
{IF{PAGE}<{={SECTIONPAGES}+X} "Contined next page"}
where X is the page number for the last page preceding the section.

Note: The field brace pairs (ie '{ }') for the above example are created in the document via Ctrl-F9 (Cmd-F9 on a Mac) - you can't simply type them or copy & paste them from this message.
