EVM calculate % completed after status date
Hi I have a question regarding EVA % completed.
It seems that MS projects does not calculate the % complete in EVA after status date. For example, a task with duration 5 days starting on Monday and total budgeted costs of $500 (100 per day). It is Wednesday and I completed 100% but the earned value shows EV = $ 300. Can someone please explain why MS projects does not calculate the % work completed after status date? Is this how EV works or is there a way in MS projects to show the actual earned value ? |

Reading your ost, are you entering actual costs in project as well as your budget cost? If you are only putting in the completion date and marking as complete, project will calculate on your resourcing. If the original was set for 100/day and it actually took 3 days, project will take a value of 100/day to give a total of 300, so its working correctly.
EVA is a comparison of actual against budget cost, so it is usually behind as actual costs are not always calculable immediately the task is complete (in my work, at least). |
