Default Can't insert a PDF in powerpoint 2007

I'm trying to insert a PDF into my powerpoint 2007 presentation, but it won't do it. I tried installing the organizational chart add in, but that didn't help. I go to Object and click on both Adobe Acrobat document or the PDFXML document options, but I get the same message --

The server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned on unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application

Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?
