Default Trouble with triggers in animation

This is the first time I've attempted to use triggers in a slideshow and I am having a little trouble getting things just right.

The reason for the triggers is because the presentation needs to be flexible in regard to topic order. The presentation revolves around a campus master plan.

The idea is to begin with the entire plan (base image). Then click on the numbered topics listed along the bottom. When you click on a given topic, a red dashed square draws around the area. When you click inside the red square, a cropped image zooms in, when you click the zoomed image it zooms back out, click the red dashed rectangle again and you are back to square one.

The problem I am having is that when you begin the slideshow from the beginning, a few of the zoomed in images are already displaying. If you click them they go away but I would much rather the presentation start with the base image.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Be warned, the slides look very messy until you view it in slideshow mode.
