PPT 2007 template creation HELP!!!!
I have tried using the Slide Master to create a template. I want two logos at the top, the title (which was left as an entry box) a line under these things at the top and then a color band across the very bottom with the footer showing on top of that. I tried building it on the topmost master slide and it did so, however, you can still click on the items I want permanently on the page and delete them in one version I created. Then I eliminated all the unwanted template styles and what was left was the Master slide and the slide with the format I want to use. No matter what I do I can still select the logos and delete them and the footer and delete it. I thought a template was supposed to retain certain items placed on it and then repeat it whenever Duplicate was selected. I followed the instructions in the help file. I tried several other things, such as once the Master Slide was chosen and the model created using Insert slide and it only inserts a partial representation of what I need. I also tried just using the Master to select styles to use and then using the format with just the Master title style and the Master sub title style and creating the format I want on that. This worked to a degree, locking the logos and the line and color band at the bottom, however, again I can select the footer and delete it. I went ahead and did a presentation with a couple of pages and the static last page (see below) showing and saved it as a PPT presentation. When I reopened it there was nothing but a blank template on the left which show what I entered on the first page of the saved presentation and none of the other pages I created and saved in that same presentation. What happened to the presentation I saved? Is this how the template works and then I have to go back in and create more pages in the presentation? And how do I get the last page to show up? Does it have to be copied and pasted into the presentation separately and then saved to show up? Seems like a lot of work.
Also, I want a static page at the end of this template that contains information that must be there for every slide but it doesn't stay after saving the template. How can I accomplish the format I need? |
