Default Drawing Guides Sensitivity Setting?

I like to use the "drawing guides" in PowerPoint in order to place things in very specific places in a slide. Years ago I could locate the drawing guides wherever I wanted to in order to do that. For several years now PowerPoint only lets me put the drawing guides in increments of .04. I know that this sounds incredibly finicky but sometimes it can make the difference between looking "Great" vs. looking like I wasn't paying attention to my work when I was creating a slide. Is there any kind of setting or adjustment so that I can move my drawing guides in the tiniest possible increments, that is .01 again? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for your time!

Have you tried zooming your slide view in to e.g. 400% and then holding down the Alt key as you drag the guide?

Dear Judithvg,

WOW! It works! Incredible! Ha ha ha ha! And, you know what? I don't even have to enlarge it up to 400%, just using the Alt key seems to do the trick! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! HA HA HA HA! You just erased years of frustration of mine. You have made working with PowerPoint fun again! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
