Default Song in Powerpoint

Hello - I have embedded a song into my powerpoint and want to send the file (powerpoint only) to a coworker. Do I need to send the song file as well? Or is it possible to embed the song into the powerpoint?

Here are some tips on audio & PPT 2007 files.

Another option is use the Package for CD options which will move & update all linked files to a folder to be copied to CD or USB.

Let me know if you are still having issues.

You can embed wav files and with a little bit of trickery mp3 files in 2007 so that you would not need to send the sound file as well.

Get back with the file type you are using.

When you are inserting the audio clip into PowerPoint, you have the option of selecting whether you will embed the contents in to the PowerPoint file ("Insert") or just create a link pointing to the audio file ("Link to file"). Obviously, if you embed it, your PowerPoint file will become bigger but in that case just sending the PowerPoint file is enough.

Oh ok, that's true.

I remember in the older PPT versions you were able to set a global audio file size threshold, below which the files were automatically embedded and above it linked to the file. But don't have the details nor possibility to verify this. Anyway I believe the problem is already solved by now.
