Default Using Paste/Special wih Excel data

I am using Windows XP, PPT MS 2007. For some reason, when I copy data from Excel and use copy/paste special to retain the link for editing purposes, the font quality changes on me. It is very bold (I did not format it to be bold) and the font quality is blurry. If I just use copy/paste it is fine. But I need the link. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Update - it seems to have something to do with animations. I changed the title animation to something different. The actual content where it was blurry was not animated at all, but it fixed the problem.
