Default Animation Triggers

Hi, I am using PowerPoint 2013 in a Windows environment. I am just learning, and the current subject is on Animation Triggers. After setting a Trigger on an animation, where my bullet point would animate if I clicked on the Title, I decided to test in the Slide Show Preview.

One concern I have is that I was able to advance the slide by clicking elsewhere on the slide. I clicked outside of the Title area and the slide advanced. Obviously, I did not utilize the Trigger in this test.

I am wondering, is there a way to prevent you from advancing the slide incase you forget about where you should click for your Trigger? I would think there is something, otherwise why even set that up unless you are presenting a Custom, context specific presentation and don't want to use the Custom Slide Show option.

On the Transitions tab go to the Advance Slide group and untick the option for On Mouse Click. Press the Apply To All button to apply this setting to all slides. This will mean you must click on your trigger to advance the slide and use the on-screen tools.

Yes, that can prevent the "click" from advancing, but I don't want to lose the click advance for the slides. What I want is for my slides to not advance even if I trigger what would be a "normal" advance, until I have set off my paragraph triggers.

Are you able to upload a sample so I can see what you are trying to do and work out the best way to do it? If you want to email me the file that is fine and I will take a look at it. Just remove any sensitive or confidential content from the file before sending.
