Default flash shockwave object not displaying

Hi,

I un-installed and re-installed the flash and shockwave players, but now I cannot get a flash presentation to display in powerpoint 2007. I also cannot get the option to show up anymore to embed a shockwave flash file. Do I need to re-install PPT?

Also, I get a notice when opening the file. "Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated. They may not be registerered on this computer". Why is that occurring and how to I get rid of it?

Default How Did You Do It?!

I have a very similar problem with the same error message. I created a ppt presentation on my pc, PPT 2007, and packaged it to copy to external hard drive. As it was copying to the external hard drive, an error message came up that not all active content could be copied. The only thing missing was the videos which I copied into the ppt folder.

I installed a full copy of PowerPoint 2007 on the laptop and updated it, I installed a full version of Media Player on the laptop and updated it, I installed Adobe Flash Player Active X and Shockwave Player on the laptop. I made sure the “Mark as Final” was off on the copied presentation, I made sure all the menu items for enabling macros and active X controls were on and still I get the same error message you did.

I can't manually embed the Active X or Shockwave Player files in the presentation because all of the control icons are grayed out. That's why I took off the "Mark as Final" so it wouldn't be read only.

Tell me the secret! What did you find out?

Microsoft PowerPoint supports the following video formats:
ASF, ASX, WPL, WM, WMX, WMD, WMZ, AVI, DVR-MS, MPEG, MPG, MPE, M1V, MP2, MPV2, MP2V, MPA, WMV, WVX

With Pavtube Video Converter or Pavtube DVD Ripper, you can choose the output formats: ASF,AVI, MPG, and WMV as the source for PowerPoint.

I dont think it can play flash.

PPT will play flash, it's just a bit more involved of a process than inserting a .wmv, or .avi, etc.

This link worked great for me.

I've had problems with the flash not showing, but it usually boils down to the path where the flash movie is located was wrong. While PPT may embed the pictures and videos (to an extent), you need to specifically tell it where the flash movies are located.
