Picture Placeholder problem
I have a template that I built in PowerPoint 2011 for Mac - on 1 of the slide masters I have included a picture placeholder.
So far so good When I bring an image into the placeholder (in normal view/not slidemaster)it enlarges the image and cuts off some of the side of it. Not a problem as by clicking on the image I can simply click on the icon - Resize Picture to fit inside placeholder. However my client is using PowerPoint 2007 and I also have this but cannot see how to correct as I do with 2011 using the Resize Picture to fit inside placeholder function. Can anyone help pls? |

The point of Picture placeholders is that the placeholder size stays fixed (The image is cropped to fit in). If you want it to resize you should really use a content placeholder.

Hi - thanks for your suggestion
I have replaced the PICTURE placeholders with CONTENT placeholders - and it made no difference in 2011 for Mac - it simply scaled it up and cropped parts of the image off (from left and right). Although the icon to resize the picture appears (and sorts the problem) when you click on the image - this I am pretty sure only applies to 2011 and not 2007 (Windows). The placeholders were a specific size tall and not so wide - so I changed the dimensions of the placeholders to make slightly wider and this seems to sort it out. A little restrictive and a shame 2007 doesn't have the same functionality/icon (resize picture to fit inside placeholder) as 2011. Unless someone else knows a way ? |
