Default Universal Inbox

I've now set up 4 email accounts with respective inboxes in Outlook.

On my other computer, Outlook was set up to show all incoming email from all 4 accounts with a single click on a "universal Inbox" in "Favorites". Thus I could see all my most recent messages regardless of which account they came from.

How do I make this "universal Inbox" in "Favorites" to show all incoming email from all 4 accounts with a single click?

It appears you where using Outlook 2003. With Outlook 2007 and 2010 you can only set your inbox to show as a favorite folder that would appear above your true mailbox folders. The setting to combine folders seems to have been removed in the later versions.

Hope this helps

Default Have 2007 and Partial Solution

Truly, I have Outlook 2007 on both computers.

I have been able to create a "universal inbox" by setting rules to send copies of "other" inboxes into my "universal inbox".

I'm still hoping that someone can help me with consequential "issues".

The problem is that I now have 2 copies of each incoming email. I would prefer not to take up additional storage with the copy. More importantly, I would like the email to go away without having to delete it from 2 locations. (Maybe this is a feature to be suggested to Microsoft?)

Any other ideas?

Change your rule so that instead of sending a copy to the "Universal Inbox" it moves the messages instead. That will prevent you from getting 2 of everything.

What kind of account is this? POP3? IMAP? Hotmail? Exchange? Something else?

If these are POP3 or IMAP configured accounts, the option " Leave a copy on the server" could also generate duplicate messages. However, the above solution should provide what you are looking for.

If you have any other issues please provide them.
