Default Outlook 2010 - Change default data file.

I searched the forum, but did not find a similar Q&A.

I was a new user to Outlook 2007 and initially connected two internet gmail accounts with a POP connection. This did not work well. In 2010, I set up new connections using IMAP. Much nicer.

I was able to get rid of the previous POP email connections and 1 of the 2 .pst files. As the other is set as the default location I can not delete that one.

Under account settings I attempt so change the default default data file, but if I select either of the 2 newer files the set as default button is greyed out. As such I am stuck with a default file that I do not want.

Any advice?

Default Will not allow me to delete

This is kind of the viscous circle I am in. I can not remove the file because it tells me it is the default and that I need to first change the default. However, it does not let me select any of the other data files as the default.

I originaly set up Outlook using hotmail.com. I was able to change email accounts but coputer show data account defaulting to hotmail which it says is unavailable. It want let me delete hotmail and it will not let me make gmail the default data base account. How do I correct this?

In addition, Outlook will not open. I get an error message saying "MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure service is correctly installed and configured."
