Default Unknown error 0x80040201 when sending

If you are having problems with the following error

Task "your ISP" - Sending' reported error (0x80040201) : 'Unknown Error
0x80040201'

here is the answer.I kept getting the above error and despite lots of
searching on micrsoft could not find the answer. The crux of the problem
is a read reciept that needs to be deleted.

This lady below knows what she is talking about. This was exactly the
problem. I accidentially triggered a read receipt when I imported some old
mail from my previous PC. This caused the error to occur because the address
was not in my new PC. Follow her lead to outlook tips and download outlookspy.
After a day of frustration the problem was fixed in 5 mins.
You will need to download a free piece of software called outlookspy.

Download OutlookSpy.

Access to http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/delete_rr.htm (to delete read receipts) and follow the below outlook tips:

After you install OutlookSpy, the MS Outlook screen will have outlookspy’s menus in the toolbar.

You can browse to any folder of your choice (both visible and invisible in the Outlook UI) by opening the IMsgStore window and then clicking the "Open Root Container" button.

Click Open Root Container.

Then click GetContents Table.

While the regarding row is highlighted, click OpenEntry button.

In the new displayed window, click ImsgStore:AbortSubmit.

Then go back to previous page. From the previous page (GetContents Table), click Delete button to delete the row. Retry the each steps to each row one-by-one.
