How do I edit AutoText?
I have Outlook 2013. My problem is not being able to edit paragraphs in AutoText. I use one of these three paragraphs when I answer email orders.
From the Insert tab I click on Quick Parts. I see my paragraphs there with the changes I've made. But I cannot transfer these changes to the AutoText. When I click on Quick Parts the edits are there. But when I move the mouse pointer down to AutoText I see the unedited text. It should be easy to make the changes but I don't know how, even after reading the instructions several times. |

The AutoText thing
Editing the AutoText. I followed your instructions: New mail from Home tab; Insert; click Quick Parts.
When I click on Quick Parts I see two blocks of my text. But I see no "edit text entry" when I right click. I can choose Edit Properties, but when I do I get the "Modify Building Block" box. I see no way to edit my text from this box. I read the material after I clicked the question mark. These explanation did not shed light on my problem. It's not crucial but I wish I could find a solution to this puzzle. |

Starting over
I'll just delete the stuff I now have in the AutoText and create new stuff. That won't be hard to do. It's too bad, though, that I couldn't just edit what I already have. Editing would seem such a simple procedure.
Thanks for your help. Last edited by TommyVincent; 08-01-2014 at 08:22 AM. Reason: an addition |
