Default Tasks permissions issue

Hi, I have a user that has shared tasks between the rest of the people in his office (20+) but there is an issue with one person. As soon as you add the person in the permissions window and edit as applicable they disappear. I've found one issue where an issue similar to this was fixed by giving the user permission to the calendar but the same permissions issue was present there. The user is using XP and office 2003 both 32bit.

Any help would be brilliant.

Thanks,
Dan.
