Default Outlook restarts computer

When my comp comes out of 'sleep' and I enter Outlook before all restructuring is finished ( 4 mins) the computer resets itself and restarts. This happens whether Outlook is not started or minimized when the m/c is put into 'Sleep'. This does not apply to any other program, Skype, IE etc. When I start the computer I have to let it start fully before I can call up Outlook
I use Win XP Pro 5.1.2600 SP3 Build 2600, Microsoft Office Professional 2007 ver 12.0.6504.5000 SP2 (12.0.6425.1000), Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Hardware 3,072 MB memory 500 MB HD, Genuine Intel 2671 MHz. System Model P5K3 Deluxe.
Very inconvenient so help appreciated - Billirl

I dont think is an outlook related issue, more like a process issue... try this.

1. start > run > type in msconfig
2. go to the startup tab
3. unselect all except your Antivirus (the name of the program itself appears on the right side of the process you're unselecting)
4. click on apply and ok, the system will ask you to restart, say yes
5. system comes up and it pops up a "system configuration utility" check the little box that says something like "do not show this again" and thats it

This will make your computer start a lot faster and you wont have to wait 4 minutes everytime you wanna use it, just keep in mind that you may use some of those startup processes, so if something is wrong go back to the "msconfig" thingy and try enabling them again, but not all.... most of the time it doesnt cause a huge impact on the computer itself.

something else you can try is disabling all add-ins in outlook...

1. tools > trust center > add-in > go to the very button and click on the "go" button
2. a windows appears, click on the remove button as many times as needed. until you have no add-ins

if outlook gives u a registry error, let me know... that needs further assistance!

Have a good day!

I am appreciative of your message, but doing exactly as you suggested had no effect on Outlook causing a restart when I come out of Standby if it had been running or minimized when I went into Standby. I had deleted all add-ins also. The machine was faster on startup when I followed your suggestions but I have had to re-institute some of the processes ie Keyboard, mouse, ATI, Soundmax.
Many thanks,
Billirl
