Default Contact alarm malfunctioning

Office '07

2 problems associated with (only) contact reminders.

1. If a contact had a reminder set and then I completed the reminder and the contact form indicates (in the upper right) the completed reminder--and then I attempt to set a new reminder for a date and time, only the date shows. If, however, I clear the flag on the contact reminder after completing it, the time will show?

2. More importantly, regardless as to whether there was a prior completed reminder or not after setting a reminder for date and time, the contact will properly appear in tasks and will turn red on the date of the reminder but doing so is not related to time nor will a pop up appear at the designated time.

In advanced options the box for display the reminder is checked.

I also ran the office diagnostic from help which returned 1 error that it fixed but had no bearing on this problem.

Any suggestions?
