Default Microsoft Weather App

I'm having trouble with the Microsoft Weather App in Windows 8.1 pro. It's a great weather app definitely my favorite but I'm having connectivity problems. After install the app it runs perfect but when I close it and try to reopen it it hangs on the blue sun screen with the little white dots spinning in a circle. I have reinstalled it several times but the same problem keeps happening. Can someone please help me correct this problem?

MS discontinued support for that app some months ago due to security issues with it.
