Default is need upgrade to office 2007 ?

I have question,
I'm used Windows XP SP3 and "Office XP", that (word, access, powerpoint, excel) basic function is enough.

I remember that Office 2003, I without upgrade it.

But now Office 2007, need upgrade it? but from me, that (office XP) basic function is enough and need open that (.doc/.xls/.ppt/.mdb) 100% suceess open, no file version problem.

(1) how to choice? keep my "office xp" or upgrade to "2007/2010"?

(2) and what difference of "office XP", "office 2003" only support XML .NET, application faster start... ?
if basic to used , nothing?
