Default Move MSOffice 2007 to new computer

I have a full suite of MS Office 2007 solutions on my old laptop, I'd like to transfer to my new laptop. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Simply use your original installation media to install the software on the new hardware. You will then need to apply all the subsequent updates. To keep within the terms of your EULA, you should also uninstall it from the old hardware.

G'day Macro,

Great to hear from the Great Down Under.

Thanks for the speedy response. Were that it were so simple I purchased the laptop online from Lenovo 10 years ago with software all pre-loaded, no discs. I'm sure the software is properly licensed. Can I make a backup from the old laptop to a flashdrive that includes the MS Office Suite, and then load to my new laptop?

I know that sounds basic to you (if even possible), but I'm not sure where best to start that process. I am using Windows 7.

Gracias and ta,

BD in Baja, Mexico

In that case, it's most likely an OEM edition of Office that cannot be transferred to another computer. Check your EULA. Even if it were not an OEM edition, simply making a backup of the Office folder, then restoring that to the new computer wouldn't work. An Office installation adds files to other folders as well, plus there's a myriad of Registry entries that get added/modified.

Ay caramba, that's bad news. I am mainly looking to get Word, Excel, Publisher, and Project, these are the applications I use constantly. I don't care if it is 2007, 2010, 2013... do you know of a good legitimate source where I can purchase & download?

There are many good sources, and a few dodgy ones as well. Which you use may depend on what country you're in, amongst other things.

I am outside the US most of the time, but I operate thru a good VPN so it always appears that I am in the USA. I found some reasonably priced older versions with license key on Amazon, I'll probably get one of those.
