Outllook: "This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it" Office 2010 x64 on 7 x64. Had 2007 before, uninstalled, installed clean 2010. Previewers are installed but I get the message the same. Can preview: jpg and pdf Can NOT preview: excel, word, powerpoint or txt. Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. Windows 7 x64, Office 2010 x64, can preview a ton of other items, just not Excel, Word, Powerpoint...

Very frustrating...

I am FED up, I went back to my 2007 installation, migrated ALL preferences to 2010 x86, yesss 32 bits.

Itīs unbelievable, MS does not have ready a LOT of their own stuff for 64bits.

Will stay on office 2010 x86 till MS gets it act ok and a lot of plugin developers also.

I am saying this in an effort to be helpful: I am running Office 2010, 64-bit version as is everyone at my office. We can all preview attached Office files in Outlook, but I don't recall that we could when we used Office 2007.

Hi Folks, is there any resolution to this one? I already had the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack installed and I'm on XP.
Any help appreciated, Frank

AFAIK, Microsoft has not changed its advice that 64-bit Office should only be used where the extra grunt of 64-bit Excel is required, primarily because so many addins do not work in 64-bit mode.
