Default Problems installing office 2013 trial version on PC

I am trying to install the Office 2013 Pro evaluation proggie, and once downloaded, when I press to install, all that opens is my copy of Corel Paintshop ProX5, and an error message in PaintShopPro saying

"Unable to open the file. Please verify the file is valid "

I also notice that the downloaded programme appears to have an .img ending...this is the download details OfficeProfessionalPlus_x64_en-us.img

Anyone any ideas please as I'd really like to try the new Office 2013 before deciding whether or not I want to buy it. ~ andy

As you're running Windows 7, you may need to download a program named "Virtual Clone Drive" so that you can mount the file as a virtual DVD drive. You should be able to find it with a web search.

Hi , thanks for the info and I think PSP trying to open anything one is trying to d/load with the extention .img.

It's how to get around that , that I'm having difficulty with. I use WinZip 7 quite a lot, but, the thing is that once I click the d/load button from the Microsoft site the d/load of Microsoft Office 2013Pro immediatley starts and is d/loading into a defualt d/loads folder on my hard-drive with no options for me to change to a different folder. So it d/loads into this folder, and once finished d/loading the PSP image is on the front of the d/loaded programme.

Not sure what to do next, might just say to hell with it and keep Office 2010.

Default Same problem: I can't install Office 2013 64-bit.

Hello all!!
I downloaded the same *.img file from MicroSoft's website, copied it into a DVD, and was able to use it (the DVD) all the files are there, everything SEEMS to be working fine, but when I open the DVD, and double-click the setup.exe file, I get the following error msg, in a pop-up window:
************
We can't install the 64-bit version of Office because we found the following 32-bit programs on your PC:

Office15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component

Please uninstall all 32-bit Office programs, then retry installing 64-bit Office.
If you want to install 32-bit Office instead, please run the 32-bit setup.
************
The thing is, that I don't have any other Office components installed on the machine, so it's very odd that I'm getting such an error msg.
Any ideas??

Thanx!

Hi romillan,

I've been OS for 3½ months, hence the delay in replying. Have you resolved the issue, or do you still need help?
