Default OneNote -Missing Cab Files

My Tablet PC (Averatec) comes with OneNote. When I went to install the
latest updates from Microsoft, I got an error message (Missing Cab file).
The disks supplied by Averatec, can only be used for a complete system
restore. Aside from buying another copy of OneNote, is there anyway to get
copies of the cab files so that I can install the latest service pack.

Default RE: OneNote -Missing Cab Files

Hi,

I am not sure how to get the missing cab files, may be downloading the trial
version and using its cab files could help, I have not tried. But if all you
want to do is install SP1 for OneNote, download the Full File version of the
OneNote service pack, this does not require you to have the OneNote CD.

OneNote2003SP1-kb842774-fullfile-enu.exe: Download this file if you do not
have access to your original product CD-ROM or if you have experienced
problems installing the OneNote2003SP1-kb842774-client-enu.exe file.

John,

I am poining you to another thread which has similar discussions. The crux
of the thread is that the user was able to use the LISTool from (
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/...rn/LISTool.htm ) and then delete
the local installation cabs. Once that's done Install the Admin SP1.

You can read the Thread here

Here is the *real* answer to this question that everyone is looking for:

Missing sku1a1.cab file

1) Get your OneNote product key off your computer.

There is a little free program that will do this for you here:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produkey.zip

2) Uninstall OneNote

3) Download the trial version of OneNote here:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/onen...rialoffer.mspx

4) Install the trial version and enter your product key when prompted

5) Check "install updates" at the end of the installation process and it will install SP2 and put you back where you were before the sku1a1.cab file disappeared.
