mailmerge from external software
Hi all
I have a very unusual problem whereby we run some very simple software which was designed out of house for use as a patient database for our opticians shops It automatically genrates letters to certain contacts and then opens up words mail merge and works a treat The only problem is that it will only work with word 2000 and we are getting increasingly concerned that one day we will not be able to use 2000 on our new machines If we try and use it with 2007 or 2010 it open the merge but it only uses one contact, thus defeating the object of the mail merge process Any guidance on what may be causing this not to work with more recent office releases would be much appreciated! ps, we cannot contact the original software designer! Thanks Dan |

Hi Dan,
Without seeing at least the code driving the process, it's impossible to say with any degree of certaintly where the problem lies. Further, if you can't access the code, it's unlikely you'll be able to do anything to fix it - in which case another solution (or a complete re-write) might be required.
