Exclamation Currency Field - Displaying Incorrect Value when Formatted

I have a mail merge in word from access (all 2016).

Before I apply the formatting, the data is displayed correctly @ 23.5.

However, when I apply the formatting: \# £,#.00 ~ MERGEFIELD "MyField" \# £,#.00 it displayed the value £28.00.

Any ideas would be appreciated, as it's driving me mad! I have fiddled with variances on \# £,#.00...

Your description suggests the value in Access is stored as '23 5', not '23.5' and, that without the addition of the picture switch, what you're seeing in the output as '23.5' is actually '23 5' with the space shown as '.'. Clicking on the ¶ symbol on the Ribbon's Home tab to turn off the formatting display would likely confirm that.

Thanks, Paul, but I don't think that is it.

In Access, my field is a currency field and when word opens it pulls only data of 23.5.

When I click the ¶, all I see is at £28.00.¶.

But what do you see when you click the ¶ when only the 23.5 is displayed?

23.5 will not change to £28.00.¶ just by clicking the ¶ symbol on the Ribbon's home tab...

I know.

In Access, the field's data type is Currency.

In word, the field code is: {MERGEFIELD "Cost"\# £#,##0.00} and I have played with variances of the £#,##0.00.

The only fields affected are the ones that should show £23.50 (they are showing as £28.00).

I have amended another dataset to a figure with a decimal value, eg £??.50 and it seems to add £4.50 to any value with .50, but not if it is .25 for example....

So why won't you answer what is, after all, a fairly simple question???

You asked:

I answered:
I see: £ 28.00.¶

If I remove the formatting (ie \# £#,##0.00) I see:

23 5.

Was there another question I missed?

Cheers

What will fix the problem?

The data in Access is clearly displayed as currency.

When you're prepared to stop wasting peoples' time, maybe someone else will help. I'm done with this thread.
