Default Mail Merge using HTML Data Source

I'm using an HTML data source to perform a mail merge. Inside of the record, I need to have a formatted table that list columnar information as a single merge field. I'm currently using the &nbsp to format the columns but would like to use a justify type tag so all of the decimals line up and I don't have to use a mono-spaced font.

Here is an Example

Year Taxes Due Penalty Interest Total Due
2016 200.85 1.00 0.00 201.85
2015 200.85 1.00 0.00 201.85

The problem I'm running into is if I use the Table tag to create the table information it doesn't pull into my Word Document and the merge field is empty. I'm just wondering if this will not work or if I'm missing something.

Thanks,

Chad
